email boxes @zappa.us available ...
hi, fritz here :
i have email boxes available @zappa.us. these email boxes are hosted by network solutions. you can go to their website ...
http://www.networksolutions.com/email-account/personal-email.jsp
and check out exact feature availability. these mailboxes come with 1 gigabyte storage space, forwarding, composition/editing, instant messaging, address book, calender(s), etc..
now why, you may ask, do you need another email account when you already have a free account that came with your internet service, or free email from yahoo, gmail, sbcglobal, etc.. ?
and, why .us ?
1) having a " front door " email account is a great way to stabilize and standardize your webmail/email accessibility, and to eliminate the hassle of contacting everyone you communicate with by email, every time your email address changes. you just give out your zappa.us address. then if you change internet service providers, your email is unaffected.
2) this is a high quality, full-featured, rock-solid, usa-based email server which can be accessed from any computer with a browser ( internet explorer, firefox, etc. ) and internet service, and/or linked to work with the email client built into your browser package ( outlook, thunderbird, etc. ).
3) this is a cheap way to get dependable email service which is not only an alternative to, and independent of your internet service provider, but also comes with the easy-to-remember, easy-to-type, familiar domain of ... zappa.us
example ... my email address ... fritz@zappa.us
4) and, why .us ? well, here's my thinking. in terms of functionality, all domain extensions are created equal. that is to say, there's nothing that you can do with a .com, .net, .org, .us, or any domain extension, that can't also be done with any other domain extension. sure, .com is the popular one. but what does .com really say about you ? that you're common ? that you majored in communication ? that you enjoy comedy ? that you're a communist ? it's sort of ambiguous. no, if all other things are equal, i kinda like .us. it's one character shorter than the others, saving days of typing over a lifetime :~). .us is the country-code top-level domain for the united states of america. and it's also a veiled reference to the power of collective thought, and will.
one mailbox for one year = $6. I also have email boxes ...
@zappa.org @frankzappa.us @vai.us @dreamtheater.us
email me if you're interested. thank you.
